Easy Pasta Recipe | Types of Pasta, Calories & Cooking Tips
Today, I would just like to share my pasta recipe with you, even though I remember the first time I made my very own pasta at home. I didn’t have any fancy ingredients or any real knowledge of how to make it, and honestly, I didn’t have much confidence, either.
The first time I cooked pasta, it wasn’t good, but as time passed and I learnt more about making pasta, it became increasingly flavourful and delicious. Now, pasta is one of my absolute favourite meals because it’s so quick and easy to make.

What is Pasta?
Pasta is super popular and easy to cook, and it’s mostly made of wheat flour and water. Pasta comes in a variety of shapes, such as spaghetti, penne, and macaroni pasta.
I personally love to cook with pasta because it takes no time to cook and can be made into a variety of meals, whether it’s spicy or creamy or healthy. You can add in some veggies, sauce, or cheese and you’ll have an awesome dish. Pasta is such a great food to cook quickly and at home.

What are the ingredients in Indian pasta recipe?
These are the basic pasta ingredients that are commonly used to prepare a simple, tasty, and homemade dish.
- 1 glass pasta
- 2 medium size onion
- 2 medium size tomato pury
- 4-5 Green chilli
- 2 garlic clove’s past
- 3-4 teaspoon oil
- ¼ teaspoon Black mustard seeds
- 2-3 Fresh curry leaves
- ¼ Turmeric powder
- ¼ Red chilli powder
- Salt (as per your tast)
How to make pasta step by step?
First take pan and add 1 glass pasta in container and add 2-3 glass of water in container add half teaspoon oil, and half teaspoon salt and cover pan and boil till 10-15 min till then pasta should be oil approx 90%.
Now pasta is boil. Remove the water and add normal water and wash pasta 1 time with normal water so pasta don’t be masshy.
Take a pan. heat a pan on medium flame and add 3-4 teaspoons of oil. Add black mustard seeds, 2-3 curry leaves, add garlic paste, 4-5 green chilies, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder, ¼ teaspoon red chili powder, and 2 medium sized chopped onion. Mix everything well and sauté until the onion becomes soft and light golden.
Now add 1 medium-sized chopped tomato and add salt as per your taste. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the tomato turns soft and blends well with the masala.
Add the pasta to the pan and mix gently. Cover the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes on low flame until the masala coats the pasta evenly.
Turn off the flame. Now your pasta is ready to serve.
What can I add to pasta to make it tasty?
My personal tips
- I usually add my pasta in boild water, so it cooks quickly and evenly.
- While I boil the pasta, I add salt and 1 tsp of oil to the water, so that the pasta gets the best flavor from the water.
- I mostly cook pasta until it is 80-90% cooked and not too mushy.
- Whenever I want to add vegetables to my pasta, I usually add capsicum, carrot, and peas to make the pasta fuller and healthier.
- I prefer green chilies over red chilies, because they are better for our health and also our vision.
- I always add turmeric and red chili powder to my oil at the beginning, because it makes the pasta more colorful and better tasting.

Although India has a number of different varieties of pasta available (many of which aren’t the same), I am going to discuss today only some of the most-known & widely-used pasta types here:
- Macaroni:- they have curved shape and are small, fit perfectly in Indian dishes.
- Penne:- a tubular shaped pasta holds sauce really well perfect for any type of sauce.
- Spaghetti:- long and thin pasta used mainly for Italian dishes or Italian pasta recipe.
- Fusilli:- spirals, used well in mixing vegetables; a good all around noodle.
- Farfalle:- in the shape of a butterfly; fun and appealing to kids.
- Rigatoni:- That kind of thick tube shaped pasta that is great for richer/ chunkier sauce.
- Lasagne:- That kind of flat sheet pasta that is used for making layered pasta dishes.

How does pasta make you feel?
My personal experience
Pasta has always been one of my go-to comfort foods. Whether I’m feeling tired, or just want to make something easy and Chinese food, pasta is a great option. My favourite thing about pasta is how easy it is to prepare and how many different types of vegetables, spices, and sauces you can pair it with.
I always try to pack some pasta when I go on a picnic with friends or family because it’s easy to prepare, a bit spicy, and something we all love. When my cousins or friends visit my house, I cook pasta because it’s simple to make, delicious, and everyone will enjoy it.
I love making pasta meals at home because I can use whatever ingredients I want and make them a little healthier. I sometimes keep it simple by using only vegetables and mild spices, and sometimes I decide to spice it up with green chillies. I prefer green chillies to red chillies.
Pasta isn’t just an easy meal option for me. it’s also an easy way to fill up after a long day and a meal that satisfies me with little work or thought put into it. That is why you will find so many pasta recipes.

The amount of pasta calories in varies based on how much you eat (how big the serving) and what’s in the pasta.
- 100g pasta calories (cooked): A serving size of 100g cooked pasta is about 130–160 calories.
- 100g pasta calories (uncooked): A serving size of 100g uncooked pasta is about 350–370 calories.
- When you add sauces made with cream and/or cheese, that will cause the number of calories to increase.
- When you add vegetables, that will balance out the meal.
